Material Characteristics
Chemical Stability: PVDF ball valves possess excellent chemical corrosion resistance. They can withstand all salts, acids, alkalis, halogens, and other media except hydrofluoric acid and strong solvents, and can operate stably in various corrosive environments.
Thermal Stability: The general applicable temperature range is from -62°C to 150°C, and for some high-temperature types, it can reach from -20°C to 160°C. They can maintain stable performance within a relatively wide temperature range.
Mechanical Strength: With a regular molecular structure, a tight arrangement of molecular chains, and a strong hydrogen bond effect, PVDF has high tensile strength, compressive strength, and impact toughness. It can withstand a certain amount of pressure and impact force, ensuring the reliability of the valve during use.
Insulation Performance: PVDF is an excellent insulating material with a relatively large dielectric constant, making it widely used in fields such as electronics and semiconductors that require high insulation performance.
Lightweight: The density of the PVDF material is relatively low, making the overall weight of the ball valve light. This is convenient for handling and installation. At the same time, it can reduce the load of the pipeline system and lower the requirements for the support structure.
Hygienic and Non-toxic: It complies with relevant national hygiene standards and can be used in pipeline systems with high hygiene requirements, such as pure water, drinking water, and food and beverage. It ensures that the medium is not contaminated.
Structural Design
Valve Body: Usually, the valve body is integrally injection-molded from PVDF material. The internal structure is reasonably designed to effectively reduce fluid resistance. There are various connection methods at both ends, such as flanges, threads, socket welding, etc., which are convenient for connection with the pipeline system.
Valve Core: Generally, it is a spherical valve core made of PVDF material. The surface of the ball is smooth. When opening and closing, it has a high precision fit with the valve seat, which can achieve a good sealing effect. Moreover, the rotation of the ball is flexible, which can effectively control the flow rate of the medium.
Sealing Components: Including valve seat seals and shaft seals, etc. High-performance sealing materials such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) are mostly used to ensure the sealing performance of the ball valve in the closed state and prevent medium leakage. These materials have good wear resistance and corrosion resistance, ensuring the long-term sealing effect of the valve.
Working Principle: The passage and cut-off of the medium are controlled by rotating the ball. When the ball rotates to be parallel to the pipeline axis, the medium can pass through the valve, achieving the flow-through state. When the ball rotates 90 degrees and is perpendicular to the pipeline axis, the medium is blocked, achieving the shut-off state.
